Smile Because It Happened

"Don't cry because it's over. Smiled because it happened."

One of my favorite quotes by Dr. Seuss. As Thanksgiving, Christmas, final exams and paper all rapidly approach a small feeling of sadness overcame me. This semester has been such a roller coaster ride from adjusting to a new university to trying to find a group of friends to fit in. I can't say it has all been rainbows and butterflies, there have been times where I felt all alone or like a I couldn't accomplish what I had in mind. Looking back at the semester, I am so happy I experienced it all. When me and my roommate first moved in together we got a long really well; mid-semester our relationship was "When are you turning off the light?" or "Can I turn the fan on?"'; as the semester ends, we do photo shoots, run to the movies and just casually hang out. Next semester I'll get a new roommate and it will all end well. I am afraid that the future semester may not be as great as this semester but there is nothing to be afraid of. You know why? Because it'll be better. The only reason the future is scary is because it is the unknown but looking back at the past, I am always concerned about the future and it has always proven to be amazing. So the future could only be all that I hoped to be. Yes, I will be sad when the semester ends in two weeks but I am happy because of the friendships I've made, the classes I've taken and how much I've personally grown.

Now time for a funny story! Since I have been super sappy, I would like to tell you a somewhat funny story. So these photos were supposed to be for my roommate's project. We went to take the photos and as we were bike riding, I looked out and saw balloons. I told my roommate those balloons are just so pretty and as I was bike riding I ran into them, torn them off the post they were at, and some popped on my hand. It was the most hilarious event that had happened to me all day. So my roommate took them since I had torn them off anyways and decided to use them for our photo shoot, which as you can see was a wonderful idea. As we were taking photos, this man came up to us and introduced himself. My roommate and I were confused and just said hello. He came up to us to shake our hand, when I gave him my hand he tried to kiss it! Luckily, I stopped him before he did. My roommate on the other hand wasn't so lucky. He actually kissed her hand!!!! Ahh! Besides that the photo shoot went well. On our way back though, I fell off my bike. Just a word of advice, never bike ride and wear heels at the same time. I have horrible scratches and bruises on my leg but I thought to myself "Eeh don't' worry about it. We will be home soon." WRONG! My friend called me up and invited me to see the Hunger Games for free. So I decided to go! I showed up in this beautiful outfit and a bleeding leg. He was probably kind of freaked out but it turned out to be a really great night! I can't wait for the adventures the future holds.

Crazy, Beautiful, Almost Magical, Painful Life

The weather still may be warm but I know in my heart, the California sunlight is soon to vanish. Perhaps I am being a little dramatic but we Californians are spoiled. We want our sunlight year round. I know scarves are cute and all but I want to wear dresses all the time. I decided for a little change though. I wore this outfit because I wanted to feel good about myself. I recently had a bad day. I lost my ID card, practically had a heart attack registering for classes and lost one of my credit cards. Luckily, I found my credit card but I still have not found my ID card, which is like at least 25 dollars.  So yes, you could say I hit a bump in the road but guess what? You only have bad days so you can know the good ones. Sometimes beauty and pain come together. My random deep thoughts of the day.

Back to the outfit, I love the fit and the color of my jeggings. Yes, jeggings are a thing and people just need to accept this. They are Calvin Klein which explains why they are so form fitting and adorable. The blouse is from EchoPaul. Isn't it gorgeous. I feel like it is the perfect touch of both feminism and power. I just feel so classy in it. (: Lastly, my shoes are Chinese Laundry. I was really excited to wear these shoes but as all black flats go-there has to be some flaw. I wore this for about four hours and by the end of that time, both of my back heels were bleeding. Needless to say, my experience with these shoes were painful. But overall, I had a fantastic weekend. Special shout out to my friend, Victoria, who this entire weekend listened to my silly boy problems, went to THREE events with me (how did she not go insane with me is a mystery) and took these gorgeous photos. Thanks Vic.
